And the rhyme is about DEATH!

And it scared me when the

first time i heard it

so i went to the Internet and

research it.

It's really True!

The Internet says;

The symptoms of the plague included a rosy

red rash in the shape of a ring on the skin (Ring around the rosy).

Pockets and pouches were filled with

sweet smelling herbs ( or posies) which were carried due to the

belief that the disease was transmitted by bad smells. The term "Ashes Ashes" refers to the cremation of the dead bodies!

To make it clearer.

"Ring around of rosy" means;

You guys know that when the person

is in the coffin.

They will put a ring of roses on top

of the coffin.

That is the meaning.

"The posies" means;

To get ride of the bad smell.

I think.

And obviously,

You guys know what is the

meaning of

"Ashes Ashes".

Scary isn't it?

And to think, when we were

little in kindergarten or std.1 and 2,

We uses to play it.

We would hold hands and turn in

a circle while singing that

rhyme!
